  1.                          MIDIMOD License Agreement

  3. (All new license! For those who hang out for this kind of thing..)

  5. By possessing or using MIDIMOD, or software that is based substantially
  6. upon MIDIMOD, or has been derived from MIDIMOD, you agree to the following
  7. conditions:

  9. You accept that MIDIMOD is not responsible for any damage done to your
  10. computer or its accessories, and even if it is responsible, it isn't. It
  11. was probably a virus that you missed. Or maybe the nextdoor neighbour's
  12. kid was playing with your computer again.. you never know.
  13.  
  14. You cannot accept a charge for distributing MIDIMOD, other than the cost
  15. of the medium it is distributed upon. If you charge more than, say, half
  16. the cost of a cheap box of disks then I'll send the Thought Police over
  17. to your house! It's not allowed.

  19. You cannot forbid someone to modify MIDIMOD by action or inaction. This
  20. means that when uploading it to a bulletin board, FTP site, network, etc.
  21. or placing it in a publicly available area (such as a disk distributer),
  22. you must also make available the source code, since this is the easily
  23. modified bit. It's therefore okay to just distribute the source code.

  25. You must distribute the MIDIMOD package as a working whole. That is, you
  26. can't just distribute the midimod.c bit without the textwin.c and textwinc.c
  27. bits. You also can't distribute the MIDIMOD files without an instrument
  28. file, an info file, and the documentation (including this license). Umm..
  29. yeah.. you CAN distribute just the documentation.

  31. If you do modify MIDIMOD, you must add text in an obvious place telling
  32. people that this is a modified version (in the source code, documentation,
  33. and somewhere in the executable). You must also update the version
  34. number and add your initials. So if Peter Mahoney Trelheim has modified
  35. MIDIMOD ver 0.2, he better set change the version to 0.2pmt or 0.21pmt or
  36. something. No changing the version numbers backwards!

  38. The MIDI file resulting from the conversion process also falls under my
  39. copyright. You are allowed to use it/play it as long as the copyright
  40. holder of the music allows you to, but you must send me a token of
  41. appreciation if you make any profit from it.

  43. You may not point out to me any spelling mistakes in either the documention
  44. or the cod.
  45.  
  46. You may not modify this license.
